Why accounting agents need a verifier
Most “AI bookkeeping” demos stop at categorisation. The hard part starts after: the entry has to balance, land in an open period, tie to the bank, and survive the close.
mozr’s answer is structural. Every posting is a projection first — the exact journal entry is computed by the server and shown before it lands. Every night a verifier re-proves the books: balances, clearing accounts, bank feeds, reconciliations. When something drifts, the agents are demoted to draft-only until a person looks.
That is the whole design: autonomy inside invariants, not autonomy instead of them.
